Metallic

Metallic 1Claret, Chocolate and Old Gold

Colour palette: claret, raspberry ripple, chocolate, old gold

If 2011 was the year of the chocolate and pink wedding then let’s hope that 2012 is the year of the claret and chocolate wedding – it’s so much classier somehow!!

Décor:

  • The ivory candelabra work with this palette as do those lovely candles from Melt – but this time I would go for the varieties called Nutmeg and Vetiver and the aptly named More!
  • Chair wraps if you are going to have them look best in either raspberry ripple or claret – you can then add chocolate napkins and accessorize the tables with old gold vases, small bowls and tea lights filled with candles and flowers from the colour spectrum
  • One of the best brown flowers to use in your displays would be anthuriums, which are available in a  mocha brown. These can be arranged in a number of ways to give a very distinctive feel.

Dine:

  • The Hummingbird Bakery will makes cakes in any colour – so I would go for Raspberry ripple garnished with either old gold ribbon or fondant and accessorized with mocha brown anthuriums

Metallic 2Chocolate and Gold

Colour palette: chocolate, ivory, gold

A delicious colour palette that uses chocolate mixed with cream and highlighted with gold

Décor:

  • Lightly scatter some rose petals across the wedding breakfast tables- choose a mixture of cream, ivory and chocolate petals
  • Luggage labels with either gold or chocolate writing make simple but effective place name cards
  • Accessorize white napkins with chocolate coloured feathers – they look delightful!
  • The ivory candelabra work with this palette as do those lovely candles from Melt – but this time I would go for the varieties called Saddle [a deep chocolate brown] and Joy – a lovely rolled gold colour
  • Chair wraps if you are going to have them look best in choclate – you can then accessorize the tables with old gold vases, small bowls and tea lights filled with candles and flowers from the colour spectrum

Dine:

  • Well with this colour palette you have to have Ferrero Rocher – either as a chocolate tower or to give away as presents for your guests!

Metallic 3Silver and Sparkling Pink / Gold

Colour palette: silver, Gainsborough grey, sparkling pink, snow white and sparkling gold

A wonderfully romantic colour palette that uses silver/grey mixed with sparkling pink and gold

Décor:

  • The key to success with this look is to layer silver and glass accessories with flashes of sparkling pink and gold
  • The silver candelabra work best – and look more effective if placed on the giant mirrored stands which have been ringed with clear glass/silver tea lights
  • Candles and table linen should be white
  • You can accessorize white napkins with sparkly silver or pink bows
  • Chair wraps if you are going to have them look best in Gainsborough grey – you can then accessorize the tables with silver vases, small bowls and tea lights filled with candles and either snow white or pink flowers

Dine:

  • Sparkly gold and silver chocolates look elegant served on silver platters

Metallic 4Silver Sparkle

Colour palette: sparkling silver, pink. thistle

Well this is the colour palette that really sparkles! It’s romantic, elegant and works at any time of the year

Décor:

  • To make the look work you need to restrict the sparkle to silver and use blush pink and thistle coloured flowers as contrast and accent
  • Like the Silver and Sparkling Pink/Gold colour palette the silver candelabra work best – and look more effective if placed on the giant mirrored stands which have been ringed with speckled silver glass/silver tea lights
  • Keep the candles and table linen snowy white
  • You can accessorize white napkins with either sparkly silver bows or single thistle or blush pink flower heads
  • Chair wraps if you are going to have them look best in either thistle or blush pink [silver sparkly ones are rather tacky!] – you can then accessorize the tables with silver vases, small bowls and tea lights filled with candles and either blush pink or thistle coloured flowers

Dine:

  • A traditional snowy white wedding cake tied with sparkly silver ribbon and accessorized with blush pink or thistle coloured flowers looks wonderful and is so classy!
